Overview

Zeromile is a Metropolitan State University of Denver student magazine, which is primarily distributed in Denver and Chicago. The theme of the 12th issue was “present.” To address this, my team chose contemporary real-time problems, such as social, culture, mental overload, and business to illustrate the whole magazine. My role in the project was a designer where I was responsible for the table of contents and two of the articles layout solutions.

Approach

In order to represent the topic of this issue, I drafted multiple sketches depicting social hot topics and elements. In the final design, my focus was on the visual communication and echoing the multiplicity of the text, such as the yellow stripe design of the article spread which highlights the content of the text: security, risks, maintaining a “warning” state to attract reader’s interest.
